Sheepface woke slowly with his mind telling him it was dawn and he had an apprentice to train. It was still getting to him that Gorsestar would give him an apprentice in the first place but he was not about to complain. Sitting up he stretched out in his space before shaking his fur not bothering to groom himself. Glancing around Sheepface took notice that no one else was really up and doing anything since it was quite early. Just means Shadowpaw has to get up early He thought with a scoff as he headed over to the apprentice den and ducked inside. Looking at the sleeping bodies his pupils narrowed on the one of his apprentice in which he shot out a paw to jab Shadowpaw in the side. "Get up we have training" He hissed out before backing out of the apprentice den and making his way to the fresh-kill pile to eat something since it would take his apprentice a moment to be ready from the past few days he had done this. Shadowpaw's sleep was shattered by the sound of his mentor's voice, which made him shiver though he reluctantly got up in fear of angering Sheepface. After grooming himself, the young apprentice stumbled out of the apprentice den and made his way to the fresh kill pile and hoped the best for the day ahead.

Sheepface had already finished a small mouse by the time Shadowpaw exited the den. He stretched his fore paws in front of him preparing to wait for the other to finish eating so they could head off. He'll make sure his apprentice hunted for a bit to make up for whatever he ate.

Shadowpaw noticed that his mentor was done with his meal and waiting for him, the young tom quickly picked out a scrawny bird from the pile and devoured it. Shadowpaw's thoughts strayed to the conversation the other apprentices had yesterday, the amazing things that their mentors had thought them. Maybe he could join in on the conversation this time. "What are we doing today?" He questioned his mentor hopefully.

Sheepface watched his apprentice eat before he got to his paws when Shadowpaw came over and asked him what they were doing today. "I'm going to be teaching you how to hunt squirrels, in the trees" He replied flicking his tail. "Maybe share how I fight as well" He added his whiskers twitching. Shadowpaw was excited at the thought of learning how to hunt, but the feeling didn't last long. The thought of learning how to fighting made him cringe. He looked down trying to avoid meeting his mentors gaze, having the discomfort of something so fundamental in clan life wasn't something to be proud of and definitely not something he wanted others to know. He gave Sheepface a slight nod and made some distance from him.

Sheepface lead the way out of camp making sure his apprentice was following. He would first need to find a sturdy tree that Shadowpaw could use to get use to the feel of the tree. Flicking his tail he headed towards one of the trees that he had used to practice climbing, "Do you know how to climb a tree safety?" He questioned glancing back.

The question had caught Shadowpaw off guard. He had never really thought about climbing a tree before, he didn't know he would have to. He looked at the tree his mentor had pointed to, and there was a slight doubt in his mind. "No." He simply said to his mentor.

Sheepface sighed heavily and sat himself down close to the trunk of the tree knowing today would take forever after Shadowpaw gave him an negative answer. "Get to climbing then and try not to fall," He stated with a twitch of the whiskers. He would see what needed to be done with his apprentice skills of climbing after watching him climb for the first time it seemed.

(Sorry for the late reply) Shadowpaw obeyed his mentor, padding up to the tree jumped to the lowest branch. His heart was pounding and his legs wobbled, he wanted to get down but after a glance at his mentor he turned to the next branch and made another leap. Shadowpaw continued to the next and the next and with each leap he felt something he never thought he would, confidence. The tree may not have been the tallest and it was probably the best for beginners but for the first time he felt like he could do this.
